August Guest Roast!

Last month, a tradition was born at Host Café. We started collaborating with guest roasters who, like us at Host and our other suppliers, are social enterprises or companies that want to give back to their communities. We are thrilled to announce that our August guest roast is… drumroll, please…

…Redemption Roasters! Founded by Ted and Max and launched in April 2017, Redemption Roasters are the first prison-based coffee roastery in the UK. We’d be surprised if you haven’t seen them around yet. Because in only two years time, they opened 4 coffee shops, set up 5 barista academies in prisons across the country and continue to blow everyone off their socks with the amazing work they do.

“Just as the sourcing of our coffee is ethical, we want to show that specialty coffee can have a social impact at every level and that exceptional specialty coffee can come from places and people you wouldn’t expect!” This is just one of the great things we learned about them over the last months. Redemption Roasters focus on training young offenders in roasting and competition-level barista skills with long term goals of reducing reoffending rates across the country. Go check them out.

• Redemption Roasters will be served as AeroPress filter coffee.

• We will have three different blends. (Check out our instagram to know more)

• We will sell 250g bags of Redemption Roasters’ best filter at Host Café so you can enjoy extraordinary coffee at home.
